I’m Khushnood Nabizada, a journalist and founder of Khaama Press and 3A1Z Stories. I build independent media and bring communities together around a question that guides my work: how can journalism earn trust and be useful in people’s lives?

I grew up in rural Afghanistan, where a radio connected my family to the wider world. In 2010, I founded Khaama Press to bring Afghan reporting to local and international readers. Today, I lead the organization from Virginia while its newsroom continues to report from Kabul.
Through 3A1Z Stories, I’m exploring another side of the same challenge: helping families navigate a world crowded with AI, social media, and information. I’m interested in what people understand and do differently after encountering journalism—and how we can learn to measure that.
